Just one more note on strange things to see around Fort Collins. Actually this one is in Timnath,Colorado and it’s Bill Swets vision of a Zoo-well sort of. All of the critters in the Swetsville Zoo are dead and possibly endangered by encroaching development. The animals in the Swetsville Zoo were all built from car parts, farm machinery, and scrap metal. There are over 160 critters at theSwetsville Zoo, a few dinasaurs, and a Monica Lewinsky Tribute on self guided tours in the small, growing community of Timnath. During WWII Japan experimented with “Balloon Bombs” that floated across the pacific to the U.S. The only bomb to successfully reach land was one that floated all the way to Colorado and the balloon finally popped over the Town of Timnath, but failed to ignite a firestorm-mostly just gave an old Timnath farmer a lot to talk about. While fortunatley you can’t really see the effects with your eyes, Timnath,CO.was the only U.S. town to be bombed in WW2.
