Brown Eyes Blue?

A company in Laguna Beach California has developed a 20 second procedure that over the course of 2-4 weeks will turn your brown eyes blue. The Stroma Procedure uses a LASER to disrupt the surface brown layer of pigmented cells on the iris. Over the course of several weeks these compromised cells are gradually removed from the eye leaving a natural blue colored iris.

Clinical trial outside of the US are expected to start in the next year. There are some questions about pigmentary glaucoma from the released pigment in the eye but to date this has not been seen to be a problem. Future efforts will be looking at making dark brown eyes lighter and green eyes into blue. What’s Next?
